South East
In the South East 2,665 residents, visitors, volunteers and on-site staff cast their votes. They represent 213 developments, schemes, courts and estates managed by 40 housing providers.
This is the second highest level of participation of all UK regions (top was the North West), and competition for the regional Awards was therefore fierce. It involved schemes managed by local, regional and national housing providers, plus strong showings by both rented and leasehold ones.
As in other regions, local and regional housing providers featured strongly, represented here by Portsmouth Rotary Housing Association, Brighton & Hove and Milton Keynes Councils, Thorngate Churcher Trust, Silva Homes, Stonewater and Abbeyfield Chalfonts Society. National providers were led by McCarthy & Stone, Freemont, FirstPort, Housing & Care 21 and Anchor Hanover.
No less than 10 housing providers feature in an expanded South East housing-with-care winners list, including FirstPort, Silva Homes and McCarthy & Stone’s YourLife Management, who each won a Gold.
