In the South West 2,370 residents, visitors, volunteers and on-site staff cast their votes for 111 developments, schemes, courts and estates managed by 30 housing providers.
The region bucked a trend noticeable elsewhere of strong performances by local and regional housing providers. In the South West large national players dominate the list of winners, with most well known names well represented – Anchor Hanover, FirstPort, Housing & Care 21, McCarthy & Stone, Millstream and Sanctuary. So it is a particular pleasure to congratulate 3 newcomers to the Awards – Teachers Housing Association, Inspired Villages and Pearn Almshouses Trust.
Another newcomer is Woodchester Valley Village, a self-managing retirement community near Stroud which scooped a Gold in the housing-with-care category, alongside Yarlington Housing and Anchor Hanover. Oak Retirement made its first appearance for Honeybourne Gate in Cheltenham, and McCarthy & Stone’s YourLife Management bagged two Awards for its developments in Bath and Exmouth.
